Introduction
Titanium anode baskets hold soluble anode material — nickel, copper or zinc rounds and balls — in electroplating baths. The titanium basket itself does not dissolve in the electrolyte, keeping the bath contamination-free, while the anode material inside dissolves evenly to maintain a stable metal-ion concentration for consistent plating.
Because titanium naturally forms a passivated oxide film, Ehisen recommends a chemical activation (pickling) before first use so the anode material stays in reliable electrical contact with the basket. Every basket is welded in argon-shielded TIG with colour-checked seams, and supplied with material certification to ASTM B265 Gr1 / Gr2. Dimensions, mesh opening and hook style are produced to your drawing and confirmed per quotation.

Titanium Anode Basket Formats
Standard mesh openings range from 2 to 5 mm. Basket size, seam layout and hook style are produced to drawing.

Engineering Basis
The five inputs below define every titanium anode basket quotation. Provide them and we will confirm basket size, construction, mesh opening and hook style together.
| Engineering Item | Required Definition |
|---|---|
| Plating system | Nickel / copper / zinc / alloy bath, chemistry and additives |
| Anode material | Metal type, rounds / balls / chips, grade and nominal size |
| Tank geometry | Bath depth, anode-zone width, immersion length |
| Electrical duty | Current density, current per basket, bus bar spacing |
| Retention | Smallest anode piece to retain → required mesh opening |
Technical Specifications
Standard parameters are listed below; values marked per order are confirmed against your engineering data.
| Parameter | Specification |
|---|---|
| Material | Grade 1 / Grade 2 titanium (ASTM B265) |
| Construction | Woven mesh / perforated / expanded metal |
| Mesh opening | 2×2 / 3×3 / 5×5 mm standard, custom available |
| Basket size | Per drawing (L × W × H or Ø × H) |
| Hook | Titanium hook / copper hook / Ti hook with copper core |
| Anode material | Nickel, copper or zinc rounds / balls / chips |
| Current density | Confirmed per order |
| Operating temp | Confirmed per order (bath-dependent) |
| Design life | Confirmed per order |
Basket Quality & Fabrication
Material traceability and weld integrity are measured, not assumed — the parameters that keep a basket leak-proof, straight and electrically reliable through years of plating duty.

Material & Weld Traceability
Gr1 / Gr2 titanium supplied with MTC; seams welded in argon-shielded TIG and colour-checked (silver–straw) to avoid weld contamination.

Dimensional & Load Checks
Size, hook alignment and flatness verified per drawing; deformation checked under loaded weight before dispatch.
